Why are you participating for Based India?

India is emerging as a global hub for blockchain innovation, with a growing community of developers, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts. Being part of this movement is not just inspiring, but it also motivates me to contribute to a more decentralized and transparent financial system. The strong support for technology in India, along with its thriving developer ecosystem, gives me the confidence that blockchain solutions can positively impact both local and global communities.

What challenges are you focusing on?

The challenge we are addressing is trustless and transparent token distribution. Projects launching on Base need to ensure token vesting for investors, team members, and partners to prevent market manipulation, build trust with stakeholders, and ensure that the token’s value grows sustainably.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Base Token Vesting is a decentralized solution that automates the process of token vesting. By locking tokens in a smart contract and releasing them based on time, this project ensures that stakeholders cannot dump their tokens early, which helps maintain the project’s stability. This increases trust and confidence in tokenized projects on the Base blockchain. The transparency and immutability of the smart contract also eliminate the need for middlemen, making it more cost-efficient and secure.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was ensuring the correct calculation of vested tokens over time. We needed to carefully implement time-based logic in the contract to make sure tokens are released only when allowed, which required precise testing. Another challenge was learning how to deploy the contract on Base and configure the network settings, but using Hardhat and Base’s RPC endpoints made it easier to handle once we figured out the proper setup.
