Why are you participating for Based India?

I am participating in Based SEA to explore and provide innovative solutions for digital content sharing within the Southeast Asian community. Regarding The cases of media theft and misuse I believe that by leveraging blockchain technology, we can create a more trustworthy and transparent environment for users, ensuring their content is protected and easily accessible.

What challenges are you focusing on?

With the increasing use of social media platforms for sharing photos, users often lose control over their content. Many individuals are stilll unaware of how their images are stored, used, or even sold without their consent. Encryption is just a sweet word for industry giants.

By addressing these issues, I aim to empower users to take charge of their visual assets while promoting a culture of transparency and trust in digital interactions

How does your submission address this challenge?

PhotoZapp addresses these challenges by offering a decentralized application that allows users to securely upload, store, and share photos through the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) while utilizing blockchain for verification and ownership rights.

Challenges we ran into

1. Being My first major project to ever work on it tested my patience at high levels, which required me to stay persistent and focused, learning to navigate the steep hurdles along the way.
2. The learning curve for different concepts were steep and like a slope too! However, the process was also rewarding, and I adapted by systematically breaking down each concept into smaller, more manageable tasks.
3. Due to the IPFS Gateway timeouts sometimes the project may not let you retrieve your photos in a new tab, but lets you retrieve the URL to access it including the hash of file.

Additional Features

1. I could have found a way to solve IPFS Gateway errors gracefully.

2. Implementing transferring of other media content as well.

3. Let Users mint their photos as NFTs, giving them verified ownership and the ability to showcase their work in a digital gallery.

4. A user dashboard for managing uploaded photos, viewing shared content, and tracking interactions.
