Why are you participating for Based India?

We are participating in Based India to showcase PearBee's potential as a platform that empowers the users to select an event's outcome across multiple categories in the ultimate event-position platform.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We are focusing on addressing the lack of accessible and engaging prediction platforms for users who are not deeply involved in traditional financial markets or tech-heavy apps. While there are various platforms for betting or financial trading, many users in India do not have a simple and straightforward way to participate in predictions based on knowledge of real-world events.

Our challenge is to create an inclusive, intuitive platform where users feel confident in making predictions, sharing opinions, and earning rewards without needing deep financial knowledge or complex technical skills.

How does your submission address this challenge?

PearBee creates an information marketplace where users can participate in simple and engaging event predictions. Whether predicting the outcome of a cricket match, a political event, or a global trend, PearBee gives users the tools they need to leverage their knowledge and earn from it. The platform allows users to browse categories, select events, and make predictions with just a few clicks.

Through our platform, we address the need for reliable and user-friendly event-prediction tools, encouraging participation from all users, regardless of background. The community can express their opinions and profit from their knowledge in a transparent and fair marketplace. The goal is to foster inclusivity, community engagement, and empowerment through knowledge-based predictions.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of PearBee, one of the major challenges was ensuring that our event prediction algorithm was both accurate and scalable. We faced difficulties in creating a system that could handle the wide range of categories and events in real time. Our approach required balancing complexity with simplicity, ensuring users from all backgrounds could easily participate in predictions without confusion.

Through rigorous testing, community feedback, and incremental improvements, we overcame these hurdles by refining our technology stack and adopting best practices for user experience design.

Additional Features

Additional Features Before the Buildathon, PearBee already had a basic prediction model in place, but during the event, we significantly enhanced the platform. We introduced:

Dynamic Event Categories: to cover a wider range of topics from sports and entertainment to world events and politics.

Enhanced User Engagement: by adding leaderboards, social features, and gamified streaks to encourage users to stay engaged and active on the platform.
