About this project

Why are you participating for Based India?

To learn about this revolutionary technology that is web3. What better way to learn that to lern by doing. This was a great experience for me although I am quite decent with creating website in web2 but this was a new experience, learning how the chain works how crypto works, why is it better.

What challenges are you focusing on?

With LinkForge, I am addressing three key challenges in the community:

Trust and Transparency in Opportunities: By building on Base's blockchain, LinkForge ensures that internships, jobs, and competition postings are verifiable and transparent, preventing fraudulent opportunities.

Access to Global Opportunities: Many individuals lack access to global platforms for showcasing their skills. LinkForge bridges this gap by offering a decentralized platform where anyone can participate and apply for opportunities worldwide.

Decentralized Skill Showcasing: Traditional platforms can have bias or gatekeeping. LinkForge leverages blockchain to create a decentralized ecosystem, ensuring equal opportunity for all to showcase their talents and achievements.

How does your submission address this challenge?

With LinkForge, one of the primary challenges being addressed is the lack of trust and transparency in opportunity-sharing platforms. By leveraging blockchain, LinkForge ensures that data is immutable and verifiable, reducing fraud and manipulation. It creates a decentralized environment where achievements, applications, and participant records are securely stored and cannot be altered or faked, bringing integrity to the process. This approach also addresses the inefficiencies in managing global opportunities by enabling more streamlined, secure, and accessible collaboration between employers, organizers, and participants.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was getting started with web3. I am using thirdweb so the setup was a bit difficult. More than that it was hard to grasp the idea of not have a database to store the data. Initially i passed all the input values from the user as parameter which led to the failure of contract deployment, as there is a limit of values as parameters for a smart contract function. I overcame this issue by make the input values a array of string.
