About this project
The problem it solves
Ether-Chess-OTC
Overview
Before the project, people struggled with traditional online chess platforms that offered gameplay but lacked real-world incentives or secure ownership. There was no way to earn actual rewards for strategic skills or ensure fair staking and transparency during matches. Existing solutions often miss the trust layer needed when money is involved.
Solution
Ether-Chess-OTC addresses these issues by integrating Ethereum smart contracts, making every chess match a fair and trustless game. Players can now stake ETH, compete in real-time, and earn rewards directly—without relying on centralized systems.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges Faced
The Plot Twist No One Saw Coming…
-
Implementing real-time blockchain interactions with a smooth chess UI was tough—ensuring gas-efficient contracts and a lag-free frontend presented major challenges.
-
Creating secure and fair ETH staking required extensive testing to prevent exploits.
-
Cross-browser wallet integration sometimes caused MetaMask failures, which I resolved by implementing better async handling and fallback logic.
-
Deploying to testnets and syncing frontends with contract events was time-consuming but ultimately rewarding.
