Why are you participating for Based India?

I’m participating in Based India because I see a strong demand for a platform where the crypto community can freely share and discover new projects. India’s crypto market is rapidly growing, but with that growth comes a need for transparency and collaboration. This bulletin board will provide a space where project creators and users can connect, fostering a vibrant crypto ecosystem in the region. By participating in this buildathon, I hope to contribute to a platform that brings more structure and credibility to the crypto space, especially within the dynamic Indian market.

What challenges are you focusing on?

The Crypto Project Bulletin Board addresses several key challenges:

Visibility for New Projects: Many small or independent crypto projects struggle to gain visibility in a crowded market. Community Trust: Users often find it hard to differentiate between legitimate projects and potential scams. Feedback Loop: There is no centralized place where users can share feedback or reviews on projects in a way that benefits the broader community.

How does your submission address this challenge?

This project aims to provide a simple, user-friendly platform where cryptocurrency project creators can post announcements about their projects, and users can browse these listings, rate them, and leave reviews. By giving users the ability to leave feedback, the platform fosters transparency and helps others make informed decisions. In this way, the project promotes accountability and trust in the crypto space.

Project Description: Post Listings: Project creators can create profiles and post details about their projects, including descriptions, links, and visuals. Browse Projects: Users can explore various cryptocurrency projects through a searchable and filterable list. Leave Reviews: Users can leave feedback and rate the projects they’ve interacted with, helping build a community-driven review system. Community Feedback: Reviews will be visible to all, creating a transparent reputation system that helps users avoid risky or fraudulent projects. Potential Impact: Greater Visibility for Projects: New and lesser-known projects will have a space to introduce themselves to the crypto community, driving innovation. Increased Trust: The review and feedback system helps users identify trustworthy projects and reduces the risk of scams. Community Engagement: The platform encourages a community-driven approach, where users actively contribute to the growth and security of the crypto space by sharing their experiences.

Challenges we ran into

User Authentication: Implementing a secure and user-friendly way for users to log in with their crypto wallets (like MetaMask) was a bit tricky.

Solution: I integrated Web3.js for seamless wallet authentication and added a simple tutorial for users unfamiliar with the process. Scam Detection: Ensuring that only legitimate projects are listed on the platform was a challenge.

Solution: I implemented a basic verification process where users need to connect their wallet to post a project, and I’m planning to add community-driven reporting features for fraudulent listings. Managing Reviews: Designing a fair and transparent review system while preventing abuse was difficult.

Solution: I introduced a rating system that requires users to have interacted with a project before leaving a review, ensuring that feedback is credible.

Additional Features

During the buildathon, I added:

Project Sorting and Filtering: Users can sort and filter projects based on categories (DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, etc.), making it easier to find projects relevant to their interests. Featured Projects Section: I added a section that highlights top-rated or trending projects based on user activity and reviews. Mobile Responsiveness: The platform was optimized for mobile devices, ensuring that users can browse and review projects on the go.
