Why are you participating for Based India?

I am participating in Based India to leverage Base's Layer 2 Ethereum scaling solutions to create an accessible and cost-effective platform for artists to enter the NFT space. My goal is to support the artistic community by reducing barriers to NFT creation and sales, while ensuring low transaction fees and faster transaction speeds enabled by Base. Additionally, I am participating to learn new technologies and upskill myself in the field of Web3.

What challenges are you focusing on?

I am focusing on the challenges artists face in accessing the NFT marketplace, such as high gas fees, complex minting processes, and limited visibility. Many artists, especially those from underrepresented regions, find it difficult to enter the digital art market due to these constraints. Additionally, current NFT marketplaces often focus on large collections, leaving individual artists behind.

How does your submission address this challenge?

My submission directly addresses these challenges by creating a streamlined, artist-centric NFT platform. It simplifies the minting and listing process, allowing individual artists to create NFTs with minimal technical knowledge. Using Base, we reduce the cost of minting and transactions, making the process more affordable. This platform provides a space where artists can focus on selling single pieces of art rather than large collections, giving them more visibility globally and the opportunity to monetize their craft.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning about blockchain technology and Web3 from scratch. Prior to this hackathon, I had no experience in Web3 development, and I had to quickly familiarize myself with blockchain fundamentals and tools. In just about 10 days, I went from having zero knowledge to developing this entire NFT marketplace.
