Why are you participating for Based India?

I’m participating in Based India to help solve real-world financial challenges in underserved communities especially by using Base chain. By leveraging blockchain technology, I aim to create decentralized solutions that promote financial inclusion and empower local communities.

What challenges are you focusing on?

The challenges I'm focusing on include limited financial access, high interest rates, and a lack of trust in traditional banking systems. My project addresses these by creating a decentralized savings pool that empowers communities to manage their own funds securely and transparently.

How does your submission address this challenge?

My submission, Base Funds, addresses these challenges by offering a decentralized community savings pool that allows members to contribute and borrow securely using smart contracts. This eliminates the need for traditional banks, reduces high interest rates, and builds trust through transparent, fast transactions on Base. It empowers communities to manage their finances autonomously, promoting financial inclusion.

Challenges we ran into

Smart Wallet Integration :- Integrating a smart wallet posed initial difficulties, particularly ensuring smooth interaction between the wallet and the community dashboard. I resolved this through rigorous testing .

User Access Control :- Managing who could contribute and borrow from the pool required strict access controls. We implemented smart contracts to ensure only eligible community members can participate, enforcing secure access.

Cross-chain Flexibility (Ongoing) :- While we aim to implement cross-chain compatibility for even greater flexibility, this feature is still in progress. Our future updates will focus on enabling seamless interactions across multiple blockchains.

Additional Features

I built this project entirely during the Buildathon; there was no previous work. While exploring the builder resources for ideas, I navigated to the provided link and chose to focus on creating a decentralized community savings pool. This idea stood out to me as it addresses significant financial challenges faced by communities.
