What challenges are you focusing on?
With the help of Base, we are addressing the challenge of trust and dispute resolution in decentralized peer-to-peer transactions. Many blockchain-based transactions lack reliable mechanisms for resolving disputes between parties. By introducing a decentralized arbitration system, we provide users with a way to safely transact using escrow smart contracts, knowing that if conflicts arise, they will be resolved fairly by a community of arbitrators, rather than relying on a single central authority. This solution aims to reduce fraud and increase the trustworthiness of blockchain-based marketplaces and services.
How does your submission address this challenge?
The Arbitration Platform allows users to conduct secure transactions with an escrow system on the blockchain, ensuring that funds are only released when both parties agree. If a dispute arises, it can be resolved by decentralized arbitrators. This solution enhances trust in peer-to-peer transactions and ensures transparent, fair arbitration without relying on centralized authorities.
Challenges we ran into
One of the key challenges was implementing the voting mechanism for decentralized arbitrators within the smart contract. Ensuring that votes were securely recorded without duplication or manipulation was complex. After experimenting with different approaches, I implemented a mapping system to track votes, ensuring that each arbiter could only vote once per dispute.
